January 2007 Newsletter

This letter is not for your flesh, but it is written to your spirit.

2007, the year of the miraculous. Do you realize how exciting this new year will be? We all know that God is a god of numbers. The number seven has many meanings and many fulfillment's in the Bible; and I would like to share with you a few of them for this coming year, the year of 2007. "On the seventh day God ended his work which he had made: and he rested on the seventh day," Genesis 2:2. The seventh day was called “the day of rest.” What does the word “rest” mean? To the Children of Israel, the number seven meant the 'provision of God.' "But the seventh year thou shalt let it rest (the land) and lie still."

In the English language, the word rest actually has two meanings; and I claim them both for me. In fact, I believe and claim both of these meanings for us.

Rest - noun - A completed work

Rest - verb - Freedom from care, disturbance of molestation, peace, tranquility

There is a great debate on the word "day" in Genesis Chapter 1. Many believe the word "day" is actually describing a very long period of time. Others take it literally from the words of Peter in II Peter 3:8, "One day with the lord is a thousand years and a thousand years as one day." Today our focus is not on the meaning of the word “day” or the length of time this day may represent. Our focus is on what happened and what was God's purpose for that day of rest.

2007 is the year for God to make your life complete. What is lacking in your life? What are you missing from the promises of God? What is the dream or what is the vision that you know God has spoken to you, but it has failed to materialize? I believe this year, the year of 2007, is your year to receive. The time came to pass for Sarah to bring forth. The time came to pass for the Children of Israel to inherit the promised land. The time came to pass for Jesus Christ to be born into the world. And, the time will come to pass for Jesus to return.

The time is now for all things to come to pass, to come into being in your life. And this year, 2007, is the time for the completed work of God to come to pass for you. "For all the promises of God in him are yea (YES) and in him amen." No doubt about it happening! No doubt about it coming to pass! Your salvation is not incomplete. Your victory is not incomplete. The answers for your family are not incomplete. Neither is your overcoming incomplete. It is time for the people to arise in their faith and say, "God, I want it all." There is nothing incomplete about the work of God for your life. The Law was fulfilled through Jesus Christ for you. Jesus did not just suffer; but He also died. He did not just die; but He rose again on the third day. He did not just rise from the dead; but He ascended on high. He did not just ascend on high; but He has lifted us that we -- that you, that I, that we can "sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus," Ephesians 2:6, with Him.

If God has finished it all, if God has done it all, if God has given it all to us, then why would we think that now He would not complete the work that He has begun in us? "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform (complete) it until the day of Christ Jesus, Philippians 1:6. The question is not will God do it, the question is: Will we believe it, claim it and begin to walk in it.

If you can believe that God has completed all, then the next step is to relax and to rest in those promises. "Let us therefore fear, lest a promise left us of entering into his rest, (freedom from care, peace and tranquility) any of you should seem to come short of it," Hebrews 4:1. The other meaning of the word rest is: freedom from care, peace, tranquility. How can a person, how can you, in a wicked world, in a godless age, in a time when Satan will attack you from every side -- with all this going on -- how can you live in peace, live free from cares; and in the midst of the storms of life, live in tranquility? It is not a question of being saved or having God in your life. It is a question of: Will you believe the promises that have been given to you? Will you believe who you are? Will you believe what God has given to you? Will you believe that these promises apply to your life? If you can believe this, then you will come into His rest, knowing that God has all things covered and you "will not fear what man can do unto me," Hebrews 13:6. "And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus," Philippians 4:7.

This year of 2007 is the year of God provision. God told His people that every seven years they were to let the land rest. They were not to plow it, seed it or harvest what might just come forth on its own, Exodus 23:11. This is the miracle. For the people to do this, God had to provide for them the full year. Gone was the worry of ‘Will I have enough to last?’ Gone was the frustration of ’Will ground bring forth?’ Gone was the question of ‘Will my business succeed?’ Gone was leaning on the arm of the flesh. God will provide. It was the year of God’s provision.

What are the worries that life has tried to bring to you for this coming year? What are the fears that hide in your heart about this year? What are the uncertainties that fill your mind for 2007? 2007 is the year to tell worries, "Go, and don't bother me again." 2007 is the year to tell fear, "Be gone! There is not room in my heart for you." 2007 is the year to tell uncertainties, "No longer will you cloud and torment my mind. I have complete victory over you." This is the year of God’s provision. I will not worry about anything, for I am now confident. I will not fear, for God is own my side. I am no longer uncertain, for I have found my answers in God.”

How great is the provision of God? Almost all Bible scholars and historians believe that two to three million people left Egypt with Moses; and God provided and sustained them for forty years. Think of it!! They were forty years in the wilderness where there was nothing. The Quarter Master General for the United States Army states that to provide for that number of people in the wilderness you would need: 1500 tons of food every day. That is two freight trains, each a mile long; 4000 tons of wood a day; 11 million gallons of water a day (and that is only if each person used less than an average of four gallons a day); they would also need about 750 square miles of space each time they set up camp. God provided all of this for forty years without missing a day. Our God knows how to provide.

The miracles, the blessings, the rest and the provision of God for 2007 are not dependent on what God does; but they, my friend, are dependent on what you do. This is your year! Your time has come! Will you believe it and will you take God at His Word?

God bless you. I am believing and expecting for this to be your greatest year in the Kingdom of God. I am praying for you.

Your man of God,
